I did really enjoy working with Graphics on this brief as it gave us a chance to get to know them more but also witness the way in which they tackle briefs like this. Our conclusion was that they are quite different to us illustrators but that did not mean we could not work together to create the pieces that we made. I would love another opportunity to collab with them again.

Life Drawing 1

Figure 1 While i am not thrilled with the outcomes I believe this sheet is very effective in terms of experimentation and mark making. The last two in pen and ink I believe are the strongest. Figure 2 This piece was the first one I drew during the session. I am not happy with it but at the same time I am as it shows the begining of my life drawing journey. Thus being able to compare it later on to see if there have been any improvements. One thing I would like to note is that I belive my marks are very stiff and I needed to be more free with them. Figure 3 While I do not like the two drawings on the very left of the page, I believe that this sheet is once again strong in regards of markmaking. The other three images are strong to show a variety of marks and how they can be used. Figure 4 This sheet may be my favourite out of the five, due to the fact I believe it showcases markmaking and experimentation. Self Portrait 2

  I am extremely happy with how this self portrait has turned out. I have experimented with ink mark making and the composition of the entire image. While preparing I decided to play about with poses for this task and believe these were a good fit for this chosen composition. I also decided to change the scale a little so they weren't all the same size. I thoroughly enjoyed working with ink like this and will definitely keep using it.

Drypoint

Figure 1 Figure 2 Figure 3   The drypoint session was one of my favourite workshops which we have done this semester, I adore how the final prints turned out. The process was fairly simple which I did not expect at first, it was quite easy to etch into the acrylic plates. I loved the fact that no matter how lightly you may have scratched the surface that mark is still going to show up. I drew my design in fineliner before tracing it over the acrylic. The etching process felt very similar to using a fineliner or biro therefore I was comfortable drawing in this process. During the printing process we had the option to leave ink on the plate or to wipe it off, in the figures you can see that i left it on to create various tones of shadow. However, I do wish i did a print where i did wipe the ink off to see clearly all the marks I made. I will definitely consider using this process again in the future. I am really happy with how they all turned out.
